A new Syracuse University work group will start meeting this month to address staff-related issues identified in a 2016 campus climate survey, the university announced in an SU News release Thursday.

Throughout the academic year, the Advisory Work Group on Staff Climate Matters will examine and form recommendations on topics that include staff morale, staff retention, career pathways, training opportunities and avenues for addressing confidential matters, according to the release.

Of the staff members who responded to the 2016 campus climate survey, about 90 percent — or 1,329 people — said they thought SU is a good place to work.

But 1,125 faculty and staff who responded indicated they had seriously considered leaving SU because of limited advancement opportunities and financial reasons. Other problems noted in the report included low faculty morale and increasing workloads, among other things.

The new work group will collaborate with Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Andrew Gordon, according to the release.

Here are the members of the new advisory work group:

● Rebecca Bostwick, managing director of the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs
● Susan Dean, office coordinator in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management
● Patrick Kelly, a parking services technician in Parking and Transit Services
● Amy Kennedy, academic advisor for Maxwell’s international relations program
● Heather Ketcham, operations specialist in the College of Arts and Sciences’ physics department
● Joseph Lee, director and general manager of WAER
● Laura Marra, administrative assistant in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics
● Joseph O’Connor, community services officer in the Department of Public Safety
● Craig Powers, a machine repair technician in SU’s Physical Plant
● Pamela Peter, assistant dean and director of the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities in the Division of Enrollment and the Student Experience
● Rob Pusch, interim director of the LGBT Resource Center
